Legal Advice and Business Advice
It is noteworthy to include legal advice in our discussion on the types of advice. This is essentially because a legal advice is usually paid. The same is true on rendering an advice on how to run a business. In fact these two kinds have produced humankind’s lawyers, or as they say, stalwarts of justice and consultants who are as profitable as their clients are.
Seeking legal advice and business advice is not as casual as an advice in relationships. This statement does not make any kind of advice more superior than the other. What this means is that legal and business matters partake a technical nature that years and years of study are devoted on producing the right kind of advice to direct the actions of the clients. There is a black and white basis referred to with regard to these matters. But of course there is no hard and fast rule in making a legal and business advice because all practitioners will really assert the two golden phrases under this topic of advice. The first is “it depends” and secondly “it is a case-to-case basis”. Yes, we pay our legal counsels and highly trained consultants to utter these phrases – much to our bewilderment.
Seriously speaking, pieces of legal advice and business advice can change the fate of a poor working class man into a multi-millionaire and also overturn a was one a giant and prestigious company into a bankrupt institution. For some it is a matter of life and death, whether we are talking about persons and businesses or companies. To illustrate clearly, if a company loses a class suit because of a wrong advice, the company will have to shell out huge amounts of money for reparation of damages and to answer for money claims. A good legal advice may pull a person out of the dreaded green mile and towards the much sought-after freedom; but a wrong one may put an innocent person behind bars. Hence, the right legal advice can really change drastically a person’s life. The same is true for a business advice where some unheard of companies are pushed in the limelight for best business practices. Hence, what is being stressed is that a legal and a business advice are two kinds of advice that are inherently crucial.
Before we leave the topic, an opinion about rights is called for. Legal advice will not be completely explained without mentioning a person’s rights. People actually have rights which are their tools from any possible governmental actions. There is a need to be appraised of all the rights a person has in order to know the battles a person may join in asserting his or her right. It is through this knowing that the average Joe will know whether the advice is sound or not. But more importantly, knowing one’s right is sometimes good enough so as to refrain from seeking legal advice.
With regard to business advice, there is a caution that should be so brazen in everyone’s mind that what works in one business may or may not work from your own. Like relationships advice, there is a plethora of literature on pieces of advice regarding doing profitable business. This time however, it is much more expensive. Altruism may not be as pronounced in this case as compared to relationships on advice. This is simply because business involves a lot of power grabbing and something is always at stake.
